MORE RECENT
Miesha Tate defeated Julie Kedzie with an armbar of her own in the 3rd round in one of the most epic battles that women’s mixed martial arts has ever seen which took place on August 18, 2012.
MAKING HISTORY
After defeating Julie Kedzie, Miesha Tate took on Cat Zingano on the April 13, 2013 card for The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale which was Miesha Tate’s first fight in the UFC and the second women’s mma match up in the UFC! The Tate vs Zingano fight was a very important bout as the winner would make history and coach the first ever TUF (TUF 18 – The Ultimate Fighter) which will showcase two female mma fighters as coaches and the first ever men and women mma fighters living under the same roof competing for a 6 figure UFC contract. When the season of TUF 18 comes to a close, the two coaches would battle for the UFC women’s bantamweight title.
Unfortunately Miesha Tate lost her match to Cat Zingano at 2:55 in the 3rd round via TKO (Knees and Elbow) which many fans, including Miesha Tate would say was a bad stoppage by the referee in that bout.
But as fate would have it, the UFC announced Miesha Tate would be replacing Cat Zingano as the coach on TUF 18 due to Cat Zingano being injured. Miesha Tate will now coach against her rival Rounda Rousey, earning Tate a much wanted re-match for the UFC women’s bantamweight title.
